Fishing is still a full time occupation for a few people.

Barnes Bay is one of the safest anchorages in the state and a good spot to picnic. Fishng is available from the jetty and McCracken's
Creek is a great spot for birdwatchers.
The Barnes Bay Regatta is usually held at the end of February or the begining of March each year.
