Summer Ranger Program
Friday 6th February 2009
11:00am Bush tucker and billy tea at Jetty Beach Campground. Learn about Tassie bush tucker, how to make damper and have a chat over a good cup of billy tea. Learn more about Leave-No-Trace principles (1.5 hours).
7:30pm White wallaby walk. Join the Discovery Ranger to encounter Adventure Bay’s white wallabies. Meet at East Cove beach, Cookville (at the end of Adventure Bay). (1 hour).
Saturday 7th February 2009
12:00pm Rocking with life. Discover the life of the marine world at Coal Point’s rock pools at low tide. Meet an octopus or a sea star (1 hour).
8.00pm Creature features slide show at Adventure Bay Captain Cook Caravan Park. What makes Tasmania’s animals so well adapted to their lifestyles? (1hour).
Sunday 8th February 2009
11:00am Whaling tales while you walk to Grass Point from East Cove beach, Cookville (at the end of Adventure Bay). Walk into history and discover what happened to all the whales. Share a cuppa with the Discovery Ranger. Bring walking gear and lunch (2 hours).
2:30pm Nature’s treasures. Nayri Niara Festival, Cloudy Bay Road. The Discovery Ranger will have a table piled high with treasure for you to explore and a few games to play (1.5 hours).
Monday 9th February 2009
10:30am What bird is that? Get to know the birds who share the beach with you. Make a plaster cast of a shorebird footprint or paint an egg. Meet at the Neck beach rookery (1 hour).
2:00pm Sand creature sculptures and beach discovery at the Neck campground. How do Tasmanian animals live in the bush? Learn how well they are suited to their lifestyles. Create your own sand creature. Meet on the beach at the Neck campground (2 hours).

All activities are free but may be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. Please bring sun and rain protection to activities. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
